It's no surprise that I like interesting curiosities, objects, and odd collections. I guess this is why I absolutely love Toddy Selby's photography of peoples interesting work and living spaces. The creative Vincente Darre's home is completely full of his own whimsical semi dark little treats. Happy Halloween everyone!!
The Coco De Mer Nut is stunningly beautiful. From the islands off the east coast of Africa, the largest seed in the plant kingdom resembles females hips and private bits. It weighs up to 60 pounds and can be as wide as 24"! Even though It is very difficult to obtain one of these I wanted to post about them anyway. Aesthetically, they are so gorgeous and would look great as a piece of art in an interior space. I know! I have this thing with incorporating objects from nature into interior decor. Ironically the Coco De Mer is from a female flower while the male flower looks like this
I mean REALLY? Come on. You got to love mother nature!!
I just came across Heather Knight's wonderful clay organics at Element Studio. They are so textural and simplistic. I love objects for the home that look like they are going to come alive and start walking around, and these would happen to be those objects! Heather's fantastic clay works reflect both her love of modern design and her admiration for the natural world.
