Viceroy Decorator Now Designing Clothes
Kelly Wearstler, decorator of the gorge Viceroy hotels (that's the Viceroy Miami, above), is branching out and designing a line of clothes. “So much of my influence in interior design comes from fashion, and everything relating to fashion, from jewelry, which can be reminiscent of sculpture, to the colors and silhouettes that I find in clothing. This feels like a natural evolution,” Wearstler told WWD.
The collection includes dresses, tops, jackets, skirts and more.
Jewelry is also in the line.Wearstler said she is inspired by stones she finds on her travels, particularly trips to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
The Kelly Wearstler fall 2011 collection will be available at Bergdorf Goodman and other stores starting in august.
What to Wear on a Beach Vacation
Today's guest post comes to us from Jacey Duprie of Singer22.com.
Calling all trendy travelers!!! It's been a brutal winter this year and I'm sure you're all looking for an exotic escape to heat things up. Not sure where to head? Check out JSG's Beach Week destination ideas.
Packing for a tropical destination should be easy breezy and with these key pieces, you won't need much more than sandals and a floppy hat (with a margarita in tow) to get into vacation mode. From top right: The Torn by Ronny Kobo Mini Skirt is a perfect item for day or night. Paired with a fun tee or button up blouse you can wear this skirt with flats during the day or dress it up with heels. Nicole Richie knows her style and she has designed a perfect Winter Kate Jacket that is great to use as a cover-up or light jacket for a breezy night. It can also been worn over this adorable black Mark & James by Badgley Mischka Dress that is sure to get plenty of wear on your trip. And because everyone knows you're supposed to wear nautical on vacay, this Joie Top (center) is a winner in our book for being comfy and stylish.
Swimsuits are the most important resor attire you can invest in because you will be spending most of your time soaking in the sun. Invest in a bikini you will be proud to wear and that has great color and fun prints. Above are options from:
Mara Hoffman
Despi Swimwear as seen on Kourtney Kardashian and Leann Rimes
L*Space
Alexis Bikini's and cover-ups
Wherever the destination may be, treat yourself to some key items that will get you in the vacation mood. You can find more Resort Attire here.

You can't go to the beach without a banging new bikini. Our favorite from the resort collections is this patchwork embroidered Missoni bikini—it's sexy in a subtle way. Layer on a Vix snake print caftan and pair with Reef leather flip flops and a versatile Tory Burch Nylon Tory Tote. The versatile look works at all of our beach week destinations so far.

Best Dressed at the Golden Globes
Our favorite stylist Christina Joy shares with us her picks for best-dressed in the Golden Globes. Let us know if you agree in the comments below.
There were many surprises on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes. Some were hits, some were misses. So many of the ladies got the dress right but the hair and make-up were just completely wrong. Other ladies listened to the wrong advisers and went avant-garde when it didn't exactly fit their body or look. And a few were, as Goldilocks says, just right. Here are my picks for the best in show.
Best in show...for her sultry sophistication.
Mila Kunis in Vera Wang
Best in show...for her grace and poise.
Catherine Zeta-Jones in Monique Lhuillier
Best in show...for her glow.
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
Best in show...for being comfortable in her own skin.
Annette Bening in Tom Ford
Best in show...for her sparkling smile.
Piper Perabo in Oscar de la Renta
Best in show...for her flawless skin head to toe...and because she can wear just about anything and look good.
Halle Belle in Nina Ricci

Win Tory Burch Travel Socks
They say that necessity is the mother of invention, which is how these Tory Burch travel socks came to life. Last year, Tory tweeted from an airport, "Is it me or is everyone grossed out by having to go barefoot through airport security? Should I design a line of travel socks?" The answer was a resounding, "Y-E-S!" and thus the Tory Burch travel socks were created.
These aren't just any socks--they're super soft, with a no-slip sole in the shape of the Tory Burch logo and come in a pouch that clips on to the handle of your carry on, so they're always within easy reach as you go through security. We love these socks so much, they're also our go-to socks for those nights when we're cuddling on the sofa watching rom-coms because it's too cold to go out.
JSG is super excited to giveaway three pairs of the Tory Burch Travel Socks to three readers (one pair each)! To enter, either fan us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter via the box below before January 14, 2011.

What to Wear for New Year's Eve
Sequins and metallic may have no better event to shine than New Year's Eve. Here are a few of our picks:
The Plisse Metallic Drape dress by Halston Heritage would flatter a variety of shapes and is perfect for the girl in the middle of the dance floor. We've worn a couple of Halston Heritage dresses this year and both made us feel sexy with a 70's vibe. Reasonably priced at Cusp for $325.
If you're headed to a laid back house party (or maybe you're just more of a jeans and sequin tank girl) try this beaded number from Adam. The ruffle makes it more interesting than your other tanks and the racerback will show off your shoulders. Originally $425 but on sale for $159 at Bluefly.com.
Burlesque left its marked on fashion this season with black lace and dance-y frocks, which is how we picked the BCBG Max Azria Lace Bodice dress. It's available at SAKS for $378.

DKNY for Clicquot in the Snow boot
Bubbleholics who love to ski take note: DKNY partnered with Clicqout in the Snow to create these limited edition snow boots. They come in the signature Veuve Clicqout yellow and like the Champagne, pair with apres-ski and other winter time events, like the Veuve Clicquot-sponsored Tube-a-Thon in Vail next February.
The boots are $98 and are available at DKNY stores and online.

Rent the Runway Sale
One of the worst things about Rent the Runway is when you fall in love with a dress and then have to send it back. We both experienced that this past summer with our rentals (above). But, finally! The Rent the Runway gently used dresses and accessories are for sale. The prices are up to 75% off the original and the site lists the current condition of the dress (missing beads, picked/pulled etc.) and all sales are final. A few or our faves:
This Catherine Malandrino is $248, marked down from $495.
This Proenza Schouler is $450, marked down from $1,950.
This Robert Rodriguez Collection is $325, marked down from $650.
And this Kenneth Jay Lane necklace is $50, marked down from $100.
Tory Burch Resort Blogger Contest
Last week, we were invited to the Tory Burch store to preview the Resort collection. We got to style our own model in the clothes--either ski or beach (not a hard decisions for JSG's Annie!). The collection features a lot of khaki with hits of neons, as out outfit on model Veronica shows—our fave pieces are all those bright accessories. Vote for Jet Set Girls in the Tory Burch Blogger contest on Facebook.
Nanette Lepore Swimwear
One of our fave girlie girl designers, Nanette Lepore, launched a line of swimwear, which is now hitting stores. Nanette says she was inspired by South Beach where she travels twice a year (She's a fan of the Raleigh.), so not surprisingly the looks are right up our alley with flirty bikinis and retro one pieces.
Available on The Orchid Boutique.
Victoria Secret and Mentos
Here's something we didn't see coming: a collaboration between Victoria's Secret and Mentos gum at last night's 2010 Victoria Secret Fashion Show on CBS. Heloise Guerin wore this design by Todd Thomas made from Mentos gum and vintage wrappers for the PINK Planet section. We'd still prefer the diamond studded brassiere; but this one would be fun to take off with your SO!
Holiday Gift Ideas: Charity Totes
This holiday gift idea is for your fashionable friend, who also likes to give back:

Malene Birger's Life In Pictures
My current obsession is the book, Life and Work by teNeues. I picked it up yesterday and can not stop flipping through the pages! I love a nice hefty coffee table book filled with lots of pretty things and inspiration. The photographs of Malene's homes and work spaces are perfection along with the details and layout. Birger is an extremely talented fashion designer, but also a gifted interior designer as well as a painter. She has an eye for details and quality. I couldn't help but photograph some pages in the book to share with you all. Along the way I've included some of Malene Birger quotes that are beautifully incorporated in the book. Enjoy! Oh, and happy Friday!
movement is the only permanent phase in our lives
life without change
is a life without development, new challenges or
experiences
I don't have a storage room- everything in my life is either in use or
exposed
you cannot plan success
- success is hard work and dedication-
with a constant focus on what comes next
i could see myself
living in a hotel
maybe when i get older-
ordering room service non-stop
